2011-2012 SEASON RECAP

The Roadrunners ended their 2011-2012 season on a solid note winning their final three games to finish one game behind the winner and secure second place in the Golden Valley Conference at 7-3 with an overall record of 13-10. This past season was full of challenges for the Runners as evidenced by a very tough 0-4 start to the season and seeing 7 of their 10 losses come in the last minute of the game. Despite this upward battle all season they stayed focused, played hard, and played well enough to make a great run at defending their 2010-2011 Golden Valley Conference championship.

As far as season statistics go the Roadrunners were led in scoring by sophomore combo guard Maazin Butler and freshman forward Eural Black at 14.4 and 10.9 points respectively. Maazin Butler also led the team in steals (31) and assists (59) followed closely in assists by sophomore point guard Aaron Dalton (56). In the rebounding department sophomore wing Masson Prowse and Eural Black led the Roadrunners with 157 and 158 boards respectively. Eural Black also led the Runners in block shots with 37 at just under two blocks per game.

Several of the Roadrunners were honored by the Golden Valley Conference with Maazin Butler and Eural Black each being named to the GVC All-Conference Team. Receiving Honorable mention All-Conference were sophomore swingman Tearence Edwards and freshman forward Josh Rolls-Tyson. Closing out the Runner’s conference recognitions was Masson Prowse named to the All-Conference Defensive team. We are very proud of these players’ accomplishments and congratulate them on their outstanding play this season.

QUICK LOOK TO THE 2012-2013 SEASON
